I love a good homemade cookie.  Too bad I don't bake very good ones.  Picky Eater is the star cookie baker in our house ~ her specialty?  Chocolate chip cookies, recipe courtesy of the chocolate chip bag.  I think I recently found my cookie, though.  Old-fashioned oatmeal cookies.  And they are truly old-school.

This recipe comes from my mom's friend, Ann ~ the friend who gave me her family's butterscotch crunch squares ice cream dessert recipe.  Ann's oatmeal cookie recipe was her mother's, her family calls them Grambi's Oatmeal Cookies.  I just knew they'd be good.  And they are.

So, gosh, thinking this recipe may be close to 100 years old?  Not sure on that, but close anyway. I love these recipes that get handed down generations, for good reason.  They're familiar, comforting, taste great and, who doesn't love grandma and mom's cooking?

Here's to Grambi and her oatmeal cookies.  Thanks, Ann.  Enjoy an old-fashioned oatmeal cookie with a cold glass of milk and think of your mom or grandma.  I guarantee it will bring a smile to your face ~ Kelly🍴🐦

AMAZING! I caramelized the oats on one of my many tries and it was delicious! I even sold a couple! GREAT JOB! 😁

Just made the cookies - followed the exact ingredients & added some coconut (husband loves coconut lol). It's absolutely delicious!! The whole family loved them. Thanks for the recipe ♥ I pinned it as it is now a keeper!

Delicious. However if you don’t have light brown sugar don’t make them, I tried and cookies come out much flatter and too crispy. This recipe is also easily over mixed so when it says “just incorporated” it means it. Don’t let your mixer just run. Hand incorporate the oats with a spoon.

Oh my gosh, they’re SO good! Mine came out thin and crispy—almost Tate’s like. I can’t even...

Kudos to you for sharing this “old fashioned “ recipe. It comes closest to ones my mom made when I was a child and I’m 60! These are absolutely scrumptious!
